François Lamarche

(Vosne-Romanée)

La Grande Rue - Grand Cru an exclussive possession of Lamarche

The domain Lamarche in Vosne-Romanée can call an impressive vineyard possession its own: four Grand Crus and one of them an exclusive possession - besides four different Vosne-Romanée 1er Crus and further wines from more basic climates. La Grande Rue, monopoly of Lamarche, was classified as a Grand Cru in 1991. It lies between the world famous climates La Tache and La Romanée Conti, but does not reach their reputation.

We could not make any degustations from the barrels and tasted only one wine of the domain, this one on the other hand very detailed. About for half an hour it could open up in the glass and gave us an impression of its future.

Echezeaux Grand Cru 2000
Ruby red. Aroma of red fruit. In the taste strawberry and chocolate. Fine tannin, rather finesse than might. Elegant wine that needs time.
