From Gevrey to Nuits

Confuron-Cotétidot

(Vosne-Romanée)

The Estate of Confuron-Cotetidot

The domaine Confuron-Cotétidot is situated in Vosne-Romanée and offers a beautiful variety of the appellations of the Côte de Nuits. Most climates consist from old vines which produce a smaller yield, but on the other hand deeper wines.

Samples from the Wood:

Vosne-Romanée 2001
Aromas of cherry, blackberry and black currant. Fine tannin and in the finish caramel. Fine Vosne!

Chambolle-Musigny 2001
A bit lighter and broader and not so well focused. Red fruit. Slight toast aromas and some vanilla from the wood.

Nuits-Saint-Georges 2001
Earthy with aromas of cooked elderberry. Terroir stressed. Fine tannins and good acidity. In the finish some red apple peal. All in all very well balanced. Convincing!

Gevrey-Chambertin 2001
In the fragrance violets. Good acidity, some wood. In the finish red berry jelly. This one needs time. Altogether the most closed one of the Village wines.

Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots 2001
Brighter. Aromas of cherry, caramel and chocolate. Fine straight forward structure. Will be very good.

Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er 2001
Assemblage from both of the neighbour climates Aux Murgers and Aux Vignerondes. Darker. Blueberry, coffee; and soil. Strict tannin, full body, deep fruit. Good structure and long finish. A textbook Nuits!

Wines of Confuron-Cotétidot of course show the family similarity, but because of this circumstance one can explore the differences of the appellation of the Côte de Nuits extremely good. Especially the wines from Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges are typical examples of their terroir.
