Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier

(Chambolle-Musigny)

Château Chambolle-Musigny

Apart from one of the most beautiful buildings in Chambolle, the Château de Chambolle-Musigny, Fréderic Mugnier also owns plots in the best climates of the village. He produces wines from the Grand Cru climates Musigny and Bonnes Mares as well as Premier Cru Les Amoureuses and Les Fuées. Unfortunately the 1999 wines had been refilled a few days prior to our visit so that they were difficult to sample. Starting with the Chambolle-Musigny the wines shared a full, elegant fruit and good, mature tannin. The Musigny presented itself with its well-known fine velvetness. Fréderic Mugnier is very happy with the 1999 vintage and believes that the 2000 wines could turn out very well.
