Passion for Concentration

Perrot-Mignot

(Morey-St-Denis)

Christophe Perrot-Mignot is a good vinter and wine maker who owns very good climates in Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-St-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. One recogizes his enthusiasm for wine, but he is always very concentrated and involved. His cellar is small - but he needn't store so much wine, because it is sold out rather fast. Wines of Perrot-Mignot are one of the most concentrated ones we tried this year. If there is a lack of finess due to the concentration you only can tell when they are complete mature. But they are nevertheless fascinating and also an expression of the soil as of the vinter who works on their concentration and tries to keep the yield low. This year he harvested from the 18th to the 24th of September before the rain and thinks that this vintage tough being quite excellent has a lack of acidity for being a magnificent one Christophe Perrot-Mignot tried wines together with us that still were in the end of the malolactic fermentation, but showed us their potential. Lucky those who have them in their cellar soon...
