Since nowadays almost exclusively high-priced wines are available in the famous appellations of the Côte d'Or, it's well worth while to search for low-priced Bourgognes from the fringes of Burgundy. The mansion of Christine Rossignol does not only include appealing and recommendable accommodation centrally located within the Côte d'Or, but also the cellar storage rooms of her little Negociant shop La Gouzotte d'Or. Christine Rossignol prefers to buy the young wines already bottled, but she also owns some barrels in which she keeps the wine. Apart from earthy, good Savigny-lès-Beaune wines one can mainly find carefully chosen low-priced wines from the fringe regions of the Côte d'Or. We found a red Hautes-Côtes de Nuits1997 and a Chardonnay from Saint-Romain 1997 as well as a fine 1996 Chablis very convincing. A good source for appealing Bourgognes for every occasion.
